Research shows that students who suffer from food insecurities are more likely to have attention problems and be poorly prepared. Many schools created a student pantry to help prevent hunger. In October 2017, Dusty's Food Pantry was created, with the help of the Division of Student Success, to eliminate hunger among Texas A&M International University students. In order to achieve this goal, TAMIU’s Greeks launched a food drive to benefit Dusty's Food Pantry during Greek Week. Philip Balli joined the Texas A&M International University event virtually on March 23, prepared for the day with a coffee in hand, miles away from Laredo. “I’m currently in San Francisco,” he shared with the students. “I’m here attending the game developer’s conference, which is going to be all week long.
