Earlier this summer there was news that The Bridge Independent Student Newspaper was getting a new office, with a move to commence soon after.
We can currently be found in Pellegrino Hall, Room 220. The office is far more spacious than our previous one, as the former was a study room in the library, and all of the staff members feel a bigger sense of pride in working for us at the new location.
In our previous office, Sue & Radcliffe Killam Library, Room 315, we would have to squeeze in extra chairs and shuffle around with multiple fans running. While the room was tiny, and the airflow was bad, we still made it a home for the time we were there.
We wrote multiple stories during our production nights and filmed our silly Instagram videos for our followers and viewers. I know The Bridge is basically unknown on campus and newspapers themselves are a rarity today, but I’ve made it part of me. Meeting so many people and building friendships that would meet together in that tiny, hot office.
We moved away from our home and have found a new one, a more spacious one, and the bonds we made in that old office followed with us. This new office isn’t just a different place for us to goof around, and sometimes write, but it’s a new part of our lives that we will continue to cherish.
To the old The Bridge office in KLM 315, thank you for everything you gave us, from memories to arguments and more. With this new office, we will try even harder to get stories out on time; I know all about our tardiness, and we will continue to form and build new bonds.
