In early February, TAMIU’s chapter of the Delta Xi Nu multicultural sorority held its recruitment event dubbed Unleash Your Inner Artist. The event allowed students to express themselves through art.
In the artist roulette event, participants sat in a circle with 30 seconds to a minute to paint before passing the canvas on to the next person.
“We get to test your artistic skills just as we are testing our artistic skills, and it’s overall just to have fun and get to know each other in a quick activity,” DXN membership educator Ashley Niño said.
The event itself was open to the student body; anyone could attend without a requirement to join the sorority.
“It’s more their option, but we’re always welcoming everybody with open arms,” Niño added.
In terms of joining, DXN representatives said they are inclusive, allowing members who are male and female, gender fluid or non-binary despite bearing the sorority title.
“Get to know us as much as you can, we’re always on campus, always trying to meet other people,” Niño said.
